In order to bring the ‘voice’ of the young into Windrush: A Voyage through the Generations, children of Caribbean heritage and aged 16 and under were invited to photograph (with a mobile phone) an artefact, a ‘Family Treasure’, that connected them, in one way or another, with their heritage and family story and to say a few words about why they had chosen it.

75 of these will be exhibited as an installation in the exhibition.

Here are some examples of their work. Click an image and ‘hovver’ with your mouse to read their moving stories; make sure you get to the last.
